The captivation
of moving pictures is a source of tremendous inspiration. For this reason and many more, RB28’s Movie
Narratives, continues showing its love for movies with another movie
narrative. This week, Roulette (2012), will be converted into
a narrative and subsequently highlighted.
It is implied that the blog reader reads the movie narrative, and then,
he or she watches the movie. The effort

The synopsis follows. Roulette
(2012) is a story about three strangers and a suicide game, out of the U.S.A. In the U.S.A.;
three people are strangers to each other, but, they know each other through a
support group. The three strangers are
named Dean Jensen, Sunshine Howard and Richard Kessler. Additionally, they each have their own motive
for being present, at the suicide game.
However, they hide their true motive from each other. Sunshine Howard is a woman. Richard Kessler is an office worker. Dean Jensen is in a wheelchair, and, he is a
landscaper. The game starts, with a lot
of hard drinking of liquor. The game
aspect, is flipping a coin. If the coin
lands on head, then one has to drink. If
the coin lands on tail, then one has to pass.
The drinking liquor part, doesn’t last a long time. A couple of rotations are completed; however,
the group is restless. Unexpectedly,
Dean adds a revolver to the game. The
revolver has one loaded bullet. The coin
rule part, along with, the liquor drinking remain the same. Richard and Sunshine flip a coin, in order,
to determine who starts the rotation with the revolver. Richard wins the coin flip, and, Sunshine
starts the rotation. Sunshine doesn’t
follow the coin rule. Instead, she
drinks and puts the gun to her head. She
pulls the trigger, but, the gun doesn’t fire a bullet. It becomes Richard’s turn. Richard doesn’t follow, the coin rule for the
liquor part. However, he delays his turn
with the gun. Throughout this time; the
stories of Dean, Sunshine and Richard are developed. Each story is told separately. Additionally, each person appears to be independent
of each other. Richard survives his
turn, and, the gun doesn’t fire a bullet.
For his turn, Dean changes the game.
He adds two additional bullets to the revolver. However; their stories continue to be told,
and, they are reaching the point where their lives are interconnected. Ultimately, they each have a deed that, is
their true motivation for suicide.
Director, Erik Kristopher Myers, does a very good job. The story feels authentic and engaging. The writer, Erik Kristopher Myers, does an
equally good job. The story, along with,
the interaction is well written.
Additionally, it is authentic and original. The officially recognized stars contribute
tremendously. They would be missed, if
they were not chosen. Overall, Roulette (2012) earns the rating of 7
out of 10.
The movie narrative of, Roulette (2012), is as follows. It is 11:02 pm,
and, a very real game of suicide is getting started. The very real game of suicide involves three
people. The three people are strangers
to each other, but, they know each other from a support group. Furthermore, they each have their own motive
for being there. Their names are Dean
Jensen, Sunshine Howard and Richard Kessler.
Dean Jensen is the man in the wheelchair. The suicide game starts with Sunshine
drinking a shot of liquor. The drinking
part, is based on the results of a flipped coin. Sunshine finishes her turn, by making the
hand gesture for a gun. She touches her
head, and, she pulls the metaphorical trigger.
Richard is the next person to drink the liquor. However, he drinks, but, he doesn’t flip
coins. He is also annoyed by
Sunshine. The third person is Dean. Dean also completes, or finishes, the
rotation. Dean flips the coin, and, it
is tail. It means that, he doesn’t have
to drink. One drinks when it is head,
and, one passes when it is tail. The
bottle, and the rotation turn, returns to Sunshine. Sunshine gets tail, and, she passes. Richard plays with the coin, and, Dean drinks
out of turn. The bottle returns to
Sunshine. Richard and Sunshine start to
argue, with each other. Sunshine grabs
the bottle, and, she starts drinking.
Sunshine finishes the bottle. Dean
takes out a gun, and, he puts it in his mouth.
The scene changes, all three are at a support group meeting. Dean starts to tell the group, his
story. The scene changes, and, Dean
proposes marriage to his girlfriend. His
girlfriend says, yes. The scene changes,
and, Dean is at the suicide game.
Furthermore, he puts a gun in his mouth.
Dean pulls the trigger 4 times, but, the bullets don’t fire. Dean drops the gun, and, it fires a
bullet. They argue with each other, but,
they also try to get to know each other.
The scene changes, and, Richard starts to tell the group his story. The scene changes, and, Richard is at a bar
with a colleague. Richard is extremely
angry, because, he didn’t get a promotion.
Richard returns to his home.
Richard’s wife is waiting for him.
The scene changes, and, Richard is at the suicide game. Furthermore, Richard is arguing with
Dean. The scene changes, and, Sunshine
starts to tell the group her story. The
scene changes, and, Sunshine is outside an abortion clinic. Sunshine is an anti-abortion activist. Furthermore, she harasses a woman, and, she
fights with a woman doctor. The scene
changes, and, Sunshine is at the suicide game.
Dean changes the suicide game.
Dean adds one bullet, to a five round revolver. The scene changes, and, Dean is with his
fiancé. They are outside their
house. They also pass the afternoon,
having sexual intercourse. Unexpectedly,
Dean falls to the ground, and, he has trouble with his legs. Dean is at the doctor’s office. The doctor recommends, more tests. The scene changes, and, all three are at the
suicide game. With the revolver, the
rule remains the same. If the coin lands
on head, then one has to pull the trigger.
If the coin lands on tail, then one passes. Richard and Sunshine flip a coin, to see who
starts the rotation. The scene changes,
Richard and his wife are at marriage counseling. The session ends, and, they continue arguing
in the car. Richard is at the office
drinking liquor. The scene changes, and,
Richard is at the suicide game. Richard
won the coin flip; therefore, Sunshine starts the rotation. Sunshine doesn’t use the coin. She drinks a shot of liquor. Then, she puts the gun in her mouth. The scene changes, Sunshine is at the library
reading a sex book. A man tries to start
a conversation, with Sunshine. Sunshine
talks, like a crazy religious person.
The man attempts to make it, a conversation. The man attempts to ask Sunshine, out on a
date. Sunshine avoids, the topic of
conversation. The man attempts, for a
second time, to ask Sunshine out on a date.
Sunshine doesn’t answer, and, the scene changes. Sunshine is at the suicide game, and, she
pulls the trigger on the revolver. The
gun doesn’t fire a bullet. Sunshine
vomits into a toilet, and, she starts to laugh.
Richard delays his turn. Richard
and Dean have an awkward conversation; between two assholes. The scene changes, and, Dean is at his
house. Furthermore, he needs to use a
cane, in order, to walk. Dean is at the
mailbox, and, he thinks about suicide.
His fiancé knows, what he was doing.
Inside the house, his fiancé is angry at him. Dean and his fiancé, attempt to have sexual
intercourse. Regrettably, Dean is unable
to have sex. Dean is at the doctor’s
office. The doctor doesn’t know, what is
wrong. Furthermore, the doctor
recommends a specialist. Dean’s fiancé,
becomes extremely frustrated. The doctor
also recommends, seeing a psychiatrist.
The scene changes, and, Dean is at the suicide game. Richard and Dean continue the conversation,
with each other. The scene changes, and,
Richard is at a meeting with his boss.
Richard receives bad news from his boss.
His boss knows that, he has stopped, doing his work at the office. Furthermore, Dean is sent to an alcohol
addiction program. Regrettably, Richard
doesn’t attend the alcohol addiction program.
Instead, Richard finds a prostitute.
For some unknown reason, Richard throws the prostitute, out of his
car. At his home, his wife attempts to
have sexual intercourse with him.
Richard rejects his wife.
Additionally, he starts to drink liquor.
The scene changes, and, Richard is at the suicide game. Richard doesn’t use the coin. He drinks and puts the gun, to his head. Sunshine interrupts, and, Richard becomes
angry. The scene changes, and, Sunshine
is at her father’s house. Sunshine
leaves for a date, with the man from the library. Furthermore, she lies to her father, about
the date. During the date, Sunshine is
disconnected. The man asks Sunshine, to
drink alcohol. The man teaches Sunshine,
the rule. If it is head, then she has to
drink. If it is tail, then she
passes. Sunshine gets head, and, she
drinks. At the man’s apartment, the man
draws a pencil portrait. Sunshine
attempts to leave, but, the man stops her.
Furthermore, they kiss and have sexual intercourse. The scene changes, and, Sunshine is at the
suicide game. Richard hasn’t completed
his turn. They start to argue with each
other. Richard completes his turn. It turns out that, the gun didn’t fire the bullet. Sunshine drinks a shot, and, the scene
changes. Dean is at his house, drinking
beers with a friend. Dean is in a
wheelchair. Dean’s fiancé is named,
Zoe. Zoe works two jobs, in order, to
pay the expenses. Zoe and Dean, fight
over the expenses and finances. Zoe and
Dean, see their psychiatrist. The
psychiatrist believes that, the symptoms are psychological. Zoe is not in the room, with the
psychiatrist. The scene changes, and,
Dean is at the suicide game. Sunshine
asks Dean about Zoe. The scene changes,
and, Richard is at the office. Richard
arrives at his home, and, he finds his wife preparing her luggage. Furthermore, his wife tells him that, she is
leaving him. Richard starts to argue
with her. Richard, becomes extremely
aggressive and violent. He also brings
up the past. Richard leaves the house
angry. Furthermore, he leaves his
wedding ring behind. The scene changes,
and, Richard is at the suicide game.
Furthermore, he has the gun to his head.
Sunshine reminds Richard, of the rules and rotation. Dean asks for the gun. Richard puts down the gun. Dean opens the bullet chamber, and, there was
a bullet that was going to be fired. The
scene changes, and, Sunshine is getting ready for a second date. Sunshine arrives at the man’s apartment. They start to have sexual intercourse,
immediately. The next morning, Sunshine
wakes up and vomits. Furthermore, it is
a Sunday, and, she woke up late. At her
father’s house, Sunshine’s father is extremely angry. Additionally, he slaps her. Sunshine’s father throws her out of his
house. The scene changes, and, Sunshine
is at the suicide game. Dean changes the
suicide game. For his turn, he puts two
additional bullets in the revolver. The
scene changes, and, Zoe is looking at Dean’s medication. Furthermore, she wants to know, why, Dean
doesn’t use them. Dean says that, he is
fine without the pills. Dean is at the
doctor’s office. The doctor tells Dean
that, he is H.I.V. positive. The doctor
thinks that; the H.I.V. is recent, and, it does have treatment options. Unfortunately, the H.I.V. is not related to
his inability to walk. Dean believes that,
Zoe gave him the disease. The scene
changes, and, Dean is pointing the gun at Sunshine and Richard. Dean puts the gun to his head, and, he pulls
the trigger. The gun doesn’t fire a
bullet. Dean gives the gun to
Richard. Richard puts the gun to his
head, and, the scene changes. Richard’s
boss terminates his employment.
Furthermore, he is told that, the police are on their way. The police want to talk to him, about hitting
his wife. On the way out, he pushes his
boss to the floor. Richard is at a bar,
and, his colleague arrives. The
colleague tells Richard that; he is also there, to have a date with a
woman. Richard leaves drunk and angry. It results that, Zoe is there for a date with
Richard’s colleague. From this point
forward, the story of the suicide game starts to become revealed. Dean, Richard and Sunshine are strangers to
each other. However, their lives are
interconnected. Furthermore, their
desire for suicide was pushed by one, or, the other. They each, have also been holding back, their
true personality. From this point
forward; the series of events, take the viewer, to the end. Finally; you have to watch, in order to know,
how this movie ends.
